Certifications & Standards

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 CERTIFIED

All of our swimwear is certified with Standard 100 OEKO-TEX. All of our linen is certified OEKO-TEX as well. STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world’s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety. During the certification process certifiers consider numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. In many cases the limit values for the STANDARD 100 go beyond national and international requirements.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC (GOTS)

The material for our Cotton Terry Children hats comes from: Shanxi ECI Hemp Textile Technology Co. Ltd., Jincheng China. They carry the GOTS certification issued by Control Union Certifications B.V. in Netherlands. During testing they tested their 100% Organic Cotton range and approved these in May 2020. The Vali Bucket hats are made in Bali. The 100% Linen is imported from WarnaJaya Textiles. Certified sustainable European flax fibre and OEKO-TEX Standard 100. This supplier also holds GOTS certifications for their inks.

EUROPEAN FLAX FIBRE CERTIFIED

Our linen hats are certified sustainable European Flax Fibre. The European Flax certification guarantees the traceability of linen materials and products based on the Chain-of-Custody principle. These materials need to have a origin in France, Belgium and/ or the Netherlands as this is the natural habitat of flax where it can be cultivated without irrigation and with no pesticides and defoliants. The Chain-of-Custody principle means that each link in the value chain that is the owner of the certified material, is certified, up to the last business to business transaction.

CERTIFIED CARBON FREE

All our main packaging is biodegradable, carbon neutral and climate positive. Certified Carbon-free by Carbonfund.org means that our packaging products have undergone a Life Cycle Assessment to calculate the total carbon footprint over the entire lifespan of that product, reduced that footprint and then had the remaining emissions offset through carbon reduction projects.

CERTIFIED HOME COMPOSTABLE - AS 5810

Our Mailer Satchels have undergone a number of stringent tests for Compostability. The Australian Standard, AS5810, is one of the toughest to achieve. AS5810 certification numbers are ABAP 20036, ABAP 20049 and ABAM 20013. The company we purchase our packaging from is also an active member of the Australasian Bioplastics Association.

CERTIFIED B CORPORTATION

Most of our suppliers are BCorp Certified. This means that we know that the suppliers we engage with meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. The BCorp certification process is a way of quantifying the process of constant improvement that we are making to the way they “do business” and zeroing in on the areas where better can be done.

Our Packaging

THE BETTER PACKING CO.

Our mailers are made from a strong, sustainable substrate containing calcium carbonate sourced from waste products and a small quantity of non-toxic, recycled resin. At a manufacturing level, our mailers use zero acids, bleaches or water and are carbon neutral. We’ve added an extra sticker so you can re-use our mailers again and again but what we love the most is that on the off-chance one of our mailers ends up in nature, (recycling is much better!) they are completely photo-degradable and will break down over a few months until they become stone powder again.

PRINTING & STICKERS

Our Stickers are made by Noissue. Noissue is FSC Certified, uses Soy-based Ink, Water-based Inks is TUEV approved for Mailers and is completely Acid-Free. Our stickers are 100% recyclable and compostable. Read more about them here.

Our Thank You Cards as well as any other product disclaimer cards and stationery are being
all sustainably and eco-friendly printed on 100% recycled paper and with Sustainable Inks by PrintTogether.
